The Power Strike Pro Tapered Nylon Leader Super Dry 15 ft is designed for situations where stealth and natural drift are critical. When a fly line passing overhead is enough to spook fish, this long leader allows the fly to land delicately and drift naturally for longer periods.
It also excels in complex river systems where multiple currents and slack-water lies require precise slack control and extended drifts. By adding tippet, extra slack can easily be created, making the Super Dry highly adaptable. The leader is designed to be ultra versatile, allowing anglers to customize it by adding a tippet ring and building their own tippet configurations.
The 80 cm tip section can also be shortened to construct a more elaborate leader with a gradual step-down in diameter. Overall, this leader is built for tactile, technical fishing where control and finesse are essential.
Taper profile
The leader consists of three sections:
Butt – 44% (200 cm / 6.6 ft)
Taper – 39% (177 cm / 5.6 ft)
Tip – 17% (80 cm / 2.8 ft)
The 0.50 mm butt diameter is a versatile size suitable for all fly line weights. The slightly finer butt and taper provide a perfect balance of speed and turnover, enabling excellent slack control in the tippet. Increased tip speed ensures straight-line delivery when required, such as on stillwaters.
