The Power Strike Pro Tapered Nylon Leader Dry & Dropper 11 ft features a unique taper profile that increases toward the front before reducing again at the tip—almost like a weight-forward fly line. This design adds extra energy in the front section, producing more defined and controlled turnover when casting heavier nymphs or dry-and-dropper setups.
The leader comes ready to use with a 100 cm (3.5 ft) tippet, offering smooth and clean turnover right out of the package. This shorter tippet length ensures stability and ease of control, making it particularly effective on smaller rivers, tight surroundings or close-range fishing. Beginners will find turnover easy, while experienced anglers can customize the leader to their preferences.
Taper profile
This leader features the following taper distribution:
Butt / Tapering up – 43% (145 cm / 4.8 ft)
Front taper – 27% (90 cm / 3 ft)
Tip – 30% (100 cm / 3.2 ft)
While designed for immediate use, it can easily be customized and extended. Guideline’s team suggests trimming 50 cm from the tip, tying on a 2 mm tippet ring, and then adding thinner tippet sections to suit conditions requiring extra finesse.
